A very delayed review of our event on the 26th July and a heartfelt thank you to all those involved again this year.

Alnwick Harriers are so grateful to all those in our community that make our event possible, from the farmers who allow us to run across their land to Alnmouth Village Golf Club who close down their club for the morning to allow us to have access to parking and club house resources.  Lots of people go into making this a successful event allowing us to park cars, use facilities and generally support our event which has been running for over 40 years. We really do appreciate all your support.

The event set off in a slight drizzle which was very much a relief from all the very hot weather we had been having, the wind also dropped from the previous day so we became very lucky with the weather.  For those of you who have run the event a number of times you would have noticed the serious lack of sand along the way so the beach running section did become a rather trickier course than in previous years, well done for navigating it safely as we had no injuries throughout the day.

Congratulations to our winners this year Eddie Knight in a time of  1.20.14 and to Laura Chapman in a time of 1.41.18

For those of you who were further down the field you would have noticed how quick the tide came in with last minute tweaks to the finish line to avoid swimming in.  The change of the mouth of the river this year has impacted the way the tide approaches the  beach so hopefully all will understand our strict rules for finishing the event in 3hours 15 minutes.

We are hoping to do it all again next year and hope you can join us again with the date being the 1st August 2027 details will follow later in the year.
